Opening its doors in Raleigh’s Warehouse District in 2011, CAM, or Contemporary Art Museum, brought a new kind of museum experience to downtown. As a partnership with the NC State’s College of Design, CAM has a dual focus: to act as an incubator for the local art and design talent that the Triangle produces and to showcase the work of contemporary artists and designers from around the world. The renovated warehouse itself captures the urban vitality of the district while the rotating exhibits vary from experiential interactive art to examinations of contemporary art in fashion.
